Share The Heritage

Transforming lives by sharing Hunting Education and Resources

First Hunt Foundation recognizes that it is often more effective for women and girls to learn hunting skills from other women, who understand how to overcome the unique barriers women may face when embarking on their first hunt. With this program we strive to provide supportive, encouraging, inspiring female mentors who themselves will also grow as they teach and assist new hunters. Both grow together hunting! We hope these experiences build a network of female hunters who can rely on each other for knowledge, shared experiences, and confidence-building connection.

Vision & Mission

Vision

To keep the American hunting heritage alive by building a community of women mentors across the U.S.

Mission

To connect and encourage women mentors to share their hunting knowledge, experiences and heritage especially with women and girl mentees on their journey to the hunt.

Certificate Program

Working with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Torstenson Family Endowment, First Hunt Foundation is seeking successful first time hunters to award them a certificate of appreciation. It’s our way of congratulating them for choosing to be a hunter and successfully completing a milestone in their hopefully long hunting career. Each is species specific so whether the new hunter harvested an elk or a rabbit, we want to celebrate with them. We will award these as long as supplies and funding lasts. The successful hunter need not have participated in a FHF mentored hunt to receive a certificate. Fill out the form below to apply for your no cost certificate.

Note: Hunting mentorship is for everyone and the foundation does not charge for hunting mentorship.
