NRA HLF donates $120,000 to First Hunt Foundation
Feb 13 2022
The First Hunt Foundation is excited to announce that we have received a generous grant from the NRA Hunters' Leadership Forum to develop online Mentor Training. Our goal is to develop free, online interactive training mentors may use to recruit, train and retain hunters to close the gap in the R3 Community, that lacks standardized training for developing qualified hunting mentors who will, in turn, act as ambassadors to save hunting. This generous grant will help fill that gap!
In consultation with NRA Leadership, the First Hunt Foundation has selected AllenComm, a corporate training and e-learning company, to develop the training, a module that is expected to run 45 minutes to an hour long. The company is familiar with outdoor-related training efforts and has developed numerous training programs for the NRA including NRA Hunter Ed Online and the blended-learning NRA Basic Pistol Course. AllenComm will work with the FHF and many subject matter experts to design and test the online training before it is released to the public in 2023.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $160,000 and we believe the FHF will easily find other donors (individuals, national organizations or companies) to contribute the remaining $40,000.
