2020 Covid-19 Impacts

  • FHF realized quickly that we needed to adhere to the changing Covid-19 situation.  We paused all mentoring in early 2020 except for immediate family members.  We set a policy that each mentor must follow their state specific guidelines before mentoring could occur again.

RMEF the Tortenson Family Endowment awarded the FHF with a large grant of $50,000 to help deliver our mission of keeping the hunting heritage alive. Blake Henning, RMEF's National Conservation Director presented the check to Rick Brazell, President and Founder of FHF.

Later in the year, RMEF gave an additional $50,000 to FHF because of their continuing success.

2019 NSSF Grant

The National Shooting Sports Foundation awarded the FHF a $16,000 grant to help with it's R3 mentoring program. The funds will be used to implement mentoring programs in multiple states. FHF will work to establish Chapters and find State leaders to get even more youth and new hunters in the field.

2019 Wyoming Outdoor Expo

FHF participated for a 2nd year in Wyoming's Outdoor Expo. It was an outstanding success where we recruited over 20 new mentors for the state of Wyoming. Fred Williams, the new State Director dove in with both feet as we also had nearly 900 youth go through our indoor simulated hunting nerf range. It was an awesome event.

Spokane Bighorn Show

FHF had a booth at the Bighorn Show in Spokane, WA again in 2019. We recruited a lot of new mentors and made connections to get access for taking new hunters to the field. For the second year in a row, FHF recieved the award for the best non-profit booth based on our message, our display and our professionalism. Very proud of our volunteer mentors!
